First visit

What to expect at your first visit.

New-patient exams are generally scheduled for one hour so you and the dentist can get to know each other and review your oral health. The visit includes a complete set of digital X-rays with minimal radiation exposure, personalized charting, a complimentary VELscope oral-cancer screening, and intraoral photos so you can see what the dentist sees. After the assessment, the dentist explains any treatment needs and answers your questions.

Patient questions

Answers new patients usually need first.

How long will my initial appointment take?

Timing depends on the type of visit and whether X-rays, hygiene care, or a consultation are needed. The office can confirm the expected appointment length when booking.

Do I need to have a new patient exam?

A new patient exam helps the dental team understand your oral health before making recommendations or planning care.

Do I need to take X-rays?

X-rays are recommended only when clinically appropriate. The team explains why they are suggested before proceeding.

When should I bring my child for their first dental appointment?

The clinic provides children's dentistry. Call the office to ask what timing makes sense for your child and family.

Do you offer emergency appointments?

Emergency appointments are available. For tooth pain, swelling, broken teeth, or urgent concerns, call 905.264.0333.

Can I ask about insurance before booking?

Yes. Use the insurance breakdown form, contact your provider, or call the office for current insurance processing questions.

How do I apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

Apply through the official Government of Canada CDCP application page. The application and eligibility decision are handled by Service Canada and are not sent to our office.
